Despite having less than 12 months on his contract, Enzo Maresca- the manager of the English Championship side Leicester City has underlined the importance of Nigeria's Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi to the team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nigerian International joined the Foxes in 2017 from the Belgian Jupiler League side KRC Genk and played a key role in the team winning the FA Cup in the following seasons.
Leicester City suffered relegation last season and Ndidi is one of the players most believe will leave the team.
He has been involved in the games the club has played so far this season and was on target in the FA Cup first round.
The club coach speaking on Ndidi affirmed that the combative midfielder is important to the team's progress and he started doing what he hasn't been doing in the past.
"Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is one of the most important players, for sure. But for me, Wilfred is very important.
"He’s trying to do something that he never has before, to arrive in the box and to try to be an offensive midfielder. He’s doing very well at that", the coach told Mercury.
Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce is one of the leading clubs eager to get Ndidi.
